It all started like any other ordinary day—until everything changed in an instant…
Hi, I’m Lauren—better known online as Spoonin’ Lo. My story is one of resilience, survival, and a whole lot of perseverance.
I was born in 1988, and from a young age, I knew I wanted to help others. That passion led me to Penn State University, where I studied occupational therapy. In 2009, I made the move to Texas, ready to build a life and career.
But in 2013, everything changed. A devastating accident nearly took my life, leaving me with severe injuries that I still battle today. I spent weeks in a coma, months in recovery, and years learning to navigate life with chronic pain and memory struggles. On top of that, I was in the middle of a custody battle for my young son, a fight that continues to this day.
Despite everything, I returned to my career as a pediatric occupational therapy assistant, determined to help kids thrive. But I also knew I had more to share. That’s why I created Spoonin’ Lo—a space where I can be open about my struggles, victories, and everything in between. From chronic pain to legal battles to daily life with my pack of Chihuahuas, I share it all in the hopes of helping others feel less alone.
This is my journey, and I’m so glad you’re here to be part of it.
