Welcome to Spoonin’ Lo!!

Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Lauren. I am a survivor, fighter, and storyteller. My life changed forever on March 1, 2013, when I was in a horrific accident with an 18-wheeler that left me with skull fractures, spinal injuries, and countless broken bones. I wasn’t just fighting for my life—I was also in the middle of a brutal custody battle for my son, who was just over a year old at the time. That battle didn’t stop when I left the hospital—it’s something I’m still fighting today, nearly 12 years later.

On top of my recovery, I’ve faced legal struggles, multiple moves before and after my accident, and the daily reality of living with chronic pain. But through it all, I’ve refused to let my challenges define me. My journey is about resilience, navigating life’s unexpected turns, and pushing forward even when the odds seem impossible.

Here, I share the raw, unfiltered truth—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Whether you’re dealing with your own struggles, seeking inspiration, or just looking for a place where you’re not alone, you’re in the right place.

Let’s navigate this journey together!

Behind Spoonin’ Lo

01

My Story

In 2013, my life changed forever when I survived a devastating accident with an 18-wheeler. I wasn’t just fighting for my life—I was also fighting for my son. A little over 12 years later, I’m still navigating chronic pain, memory struggles, and the challenges of daily life, including continuing to fight for my rights to see my son more. Through it all, I’ve found strength in my family, my passion for helping others, and my little Chihuahua pack, who bring me endless comfort. This blog is where I share my journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

02

Chronic Pain & Healing

Living with chronic pain is a daily battle, but I’ve found ways to manage and keep pushing forward. From pain relief methods to lifestyle adjustments, I share what has helped me, what hasn’t, and how I navigate life with ongoing challenges. Whether it’s soaking in lavender Espom salt baths, using my TENS unit, or tracking my self-made exercises, this is where I document my healing process.

Mental Health & Resilience

Surviving trauma isn’t just about physical recovery—it’s a mental and emotional journey, too. The weight of memory struggles, anxiety, and chronic pain is heavy, but nothing compared to the heartbreak of being a mother without her child. In the years after my accident, I not only had to rebuild my body but also navigate the devastating reality of missing precious moments in my son’s early life. The emotional toll of that loss still lingers. Here, I talk openly about my experiences, the coping mechanisms that help me keep going, and how I continue working on my mental well-being every day.

04

Daily Life & Family

Being a mom, wife, and working professional while managing chronic pain is a delicate balancing act. Some days, I can do it all; other days, I need to rely on my family to carry the extra weight. In this blog I will share how I navigate motherhood, marriage, and daily routines while honoring my body’s limits. I’ll talk about the challenges, the small victories, and the ways I make life work—even on the hardest days.

05

Advocacy & Awareness

I want to use my story to help others—whether they’re chronic pain warriors, trauma survivors, or simply looking for inspiration. Raising awareness about life after trauma is important to me, and I hope sharing my journey helps others feel seen, heard, and supported.
